Description

The M62 stereo set contains a matched set of M60 FET microphones with TK62 hypercardioid capsules.

M60 FET Microphone

With over a year and half of development and beta testing with top recording engineers, the newly designed M60 FET (Field Effect Transistor) small diaphragm microphone is TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik’s first non-vacuum tube, FET-based solid-state condenser microphone.

Utilizing a unique proprietary circuit topology, this re-interpretation of the classic FET mic amplifier produces an exceptional transient response and SPL handling capabilities. Carefully selected and tested components are hand-plugged into gold-plated circuit board traces to provide an ultra-clean true Class A discrete amplifier with a frequency response of +/- 2dB from 20Hz to 50KHz.

The output is matched with a custom American-made transformer that offers an especially low self-noise and a typical THD+N of 0.015% or better, making it ideal for critical recording applications.

Designed to utilize the same interchangeable TK6X capsule systems as the TEC Award-winning ELA M 260 small diaphragm tube microphone, the M60 FET is an excellent tool for both acoustic and percussive sources.

TK62 Hypercardioid Capsule

The TELEFUNKEN TK62 is a small diaphragm hyper-cardioid capsule used with the ELA M 260 tube microphone and the M60 FET microphone. Featuring a 6-micron gold-sputtered membrane measuring 15mm in diameter, the TK62 provides a wide cardioid pattern flat in response from 150 Hz to 3 kHz, with a dip at 6 kHz and a smooth, airy presence peak at 8 kHz. These small diaphragm capsules are tested to a strict ±1dB sensitivity tolerance. This tightened polar pattern is great for use on cymbals, percussion, and as a stereo pair for live performance recording, as used in the ELA M 260 Field Set.

Accessories

M62 FET hypercardioid stereo set ships complete with two SGMC-5R 5 meter XLR cables with right angle female connector, two M761 elastic shock mounts and FC62 zipper carrying case.
